Clinical Martial Arts
"When you bow deeply to the universe, it bows back."
— O'Sensei Morihei Ueshiba, founder of Aikido
Clinical Martial Arts is a program where primary emphasis is placed on education of the body. The body becomes the teacher. Through the circular exercises of Aikido the body begins to direct the self. It teaches the self to deal with uncomfortable feelings without self-destructive behaviors. It teaches the self to control its impulses and to move away from the "fight or flight" response when encountering internal or external pressures.

The student in this program will be exposed to many techniques that lead to inner resourcing and contribute to making mature choices in his or her life. Training through the body will also improve the student's spiritual health. Aikido has as its goal the unification of body, mind and spirit. Aikido helps us to harmonize with the laws of nature and the universe.

This program is an excellent adjunct to youth or adults in residential centers or group homes.
